Commitment to Dare to Lead Institutional members will make a formal commitment to publicising and supporting the work of the Coalition through their media of contact with their own members; and developing their own initiatives related to the task. Whatever the circumstances of your organisation there is a role to play, including: - building awareness of the Coalition (eg notices, articles, alerts)
- encouraging membership (eg public statements, word of mouth, agenda items)
- ensuring its use as a conduit for information (eg making sure we know your news so others can be told; we will tell you ours)
- where relevant, offering in-kind support (eg helping with publishing and statistics; offering venues for meetings)
- building and maintaining awareness of Indigenous education as a matter of the highest priority for Australian educators (eg in your own media including features or regular articles on Indigenous education; making it a standing item on agendas at your meetings)
- fostering relationships, personal as well as institutional, between our country's Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities (eg making opportunities to invite Indigenous people to events, meetings, conferences and social occasions; sharing your work and interests; encouraging membership; listening to their stories; finding ways of supporting their concerns)
- reviewing your activity in the area of Indigenous education to find and implement ways of supporting the process of generating better outcomes (eg mounting projects related to this purpose; featuring these issues at conferences)
- participating in the celebration of successes.
