For Shepparton, Ballarat, Warnambool and Melbourne: Using the research data
collected by Dare to Lead over the last 7 years ACER and Dare to Lead have
looked at what Quality Schools look like for Aboriginal Students, Parent and
Staff. This workshop will look at many aspects of the National Aboriginal Education
Action Plan from the point of view of the Aboriginal voice. Personalised
Learning, Qualities of Teachers, Engagement of Community and the importance of
Aboriginal staff will be investigated thoroughly. This is an interactive
workshop that will focus school teams on their own data and experiences.

 | 2012 What's happening this year? |  | Dare to Lead Leadership Development Program Victoria Schools are invited to have Principals, Executive staff and key teachers/staff participate in Dare to Lead's workshop based program - Developing Quality Leaders for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education program. All KECs and KESOs are also invited to participate.
The Victorian DEECD has worked closely with Dare to Lead over the past 3 years and this program follows the work completed in Collegial School Snapshots and Individual School situational analysis undertaken by many Wannik schools. The Wannik Unit has covered the registration, venue and catering costs for the program for all participants. Wannik is considering covering teacher release for Wannik Focus schools.

Wannik Wannik, is the Victorian Government's Education Strategy for Koorie Students in Victoria and represents a new era of collaboration in Victoria, where the system will reposition the education of Koorie students within all of our schools through - strong leadership that creates a culture of high expectations and individualised learning for Koorie students. The overarching principle of the strategy is about delivering the best possible education to Victoria's Koorie students. Wannik, from the Gunai/Kurnai language, means Learning Together - Journey to Our Future.
The Wannik Branch provides some financial assistance for Dare to Lead activity in Victoria. The Dare to Lead state coordinators liaise closely with the Wannik Branch and Regional Koori workforce as they provide collegiate support to principals implementing Wannik strategies.
