Excellence in Leadership in Indigenous Education Awards
The Dare to Lead Excellence in Leadership in Indigenous Education Awards have been presented annually since 2004.
The awards recognise schools that demonstrate high levels of effective leadership, Indigenous community involvement and improvements in targeted outcomes.
These schools demonstrate focused, data-driven, strategically-planned activities with measurable outcomes for their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
The winning schools are determined by a panel of Indigenous and non-Indigenous educators which assesses each school's application against set criteria. Winners are announced at a formal ceremony. High Achievement award-winning schools receive $6000 plus a commemorative plaque. Other award-winning schools receive $1000 and a certificate.
